About Braelei Hardt
Thank you for your interest in my photography! As a wildlife biologist and mountain tour guide based out of Denver, Colorado, I find myself among breathtaking landscapes and inquisitive wildlife near daily. On those rare occasions that I have time to pull out a camera, I enjoy capturing not just the views I experience but the sentiment that comes along with them. My interest in biology and ecology began at an early age, and developed rapidly during my teen years, during which time I became an avid falconer and educator at a raptor rehabilitation facility in Eugene, Oregon. My interest in predatory raptors quickly led to a career in ornithology, the study of birds. Since, I have spent several seasons as a field biologist, earning an Honor's Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Statistics and a Master's in Biology-- focusing on evolutionary ecology and acoustic biophysics-- and publishing original research in academic journals such as Bioacoustics. After graduating from my Master's, I chose to focus primarily on education. Currently, I work as a naturalist tour guide in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, working seasonally as an author for the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, where I develop status reports for threatened and endangered species. Science education is an absolute passion of mine, and I take care to include information on the biological, geological, conservation, or historical impact of each photo I take. I hope that you enjoy my gallery and consider supporting a young biologist.
